North Korean Flag
The blue stripes stand for sovereighty, peace, & friendship. The red stands for commmunism, the form of government. The white stands for purity and is also the Korean people's color. The red star represents the communist philosophy of Korea. And finally, the white circle is linked to the ying-yang symbol on the South Korean flag.
South Korean Flag
The kwae symbols in each corner stand for the principle of movement & harmony. The broken bars stand for yin and the unbroken bars stand for yang. There are four different kwae: kun- heaven, yi- fire, kam- water, and kon- earth. Eatch symbol represents a different symbol of movement.
